A 6.6-magnitude earthquake jolted the open Atlantic and some buildings swayed slightly in the northern Caribbean
SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico — An earthquake measuring 6.6 on the Richter scale shook the Atlantic Ocean near the northern Caribbean on Monday, causing some buildings in the area to sway slightly.
According to the United States Geological Survey, the quake occurred at a depth of 10 kilometers. The epicenter was about 170 miles (270 kilometers) north-northeast of Antigua and Barbuda.
The earthquake could be felt on several islands, including Puerto Rico. No damage was immediately reported.
