Aaron Hernandez’s brother Dennis throws a brick at ESPN headquarters

Who hasn’t wanted to whip up a brick in an ESPN building, whether it’s headquarters in Bristol, Conn., or one of its few now-shuttered ESPN zones? I know if I go through the window, where Get up It was shot in New York, I’d pick up the heaviest piece of trash I could find and throw it in Mike Greenberg’s face. That’s why I stand by Dennis “DJ” Hernandez, the brother of Aaron Hernandez, who was recently arrested after allegedly threw a rock at ESPN headquarters.

The 36-year-old DJ was brought in on Thursday after allegedly taking an Uber to the Bristol site and dumping a plastic bag containing a brick and a note in an office area. I really, really, really want to know what your driver thinks about it all. I mean, what do you say when your fare gets out of the car and tells you to keep the engine running?

The car was turned away at the security gate, TMZ reports, and Hernandez apparently only threw the brick at ESPN’s property. On March 23, he was charged with second-degree breach of peace, a misdemeanor.

However, if you’re like me, you want to know what the note said, so let me share what was allegedly scrawled on it.

“To all media,

“It’s about time, you real eyes.” [sic] the media affects every member of the family. Since you are a global leader, perhaps you could control the media and messaging from brick to brick. Clean it up!

Sincerely, Dennis J. Hernandez.

Grammatical mistakes aside, it’s hard not to feel bad about being a DJ. We know his brother’s story all too well, and it clearly still grates on him. While no one should or should feel empathy for Aaron, I can’t imagine the pain of a family member falling from grace in such a tragic, horrific and public way.

DJ is now banned from ESPN premises (obviously) and could be arrested for trespassing if he returns (no duh). I don’t know if Hernandez regrets it, but it makes me sad that the bag of bricks didn’t hit Chris Berman’s windshield.
