Aubrey Plaza Parks And Rec, White Lotus, Jenna Ortega
From her role as April Ludgate to her hilariously awkward talk show appearances, Aubrey is known for her sense of humor — even when it blurs the line between what’s a bit and what’s real life.
“The thing that was destroyed was not my thing. I could, but it didn’t sound like “There goes the dead girl.” I like to think I’m such a good actor that people thought it was literally me,” he told Vanity Fair.
“You can see all the colors of my psychological state in these interviews,” he continued. “It’s a struggle for me every time. It’s hard not to quote “give the people what they want”, meaning – I don’t even know what they want – and try to entertain myself without sounding like an asshole.
“I think it all just comes from being scared. I’m more of a character. I mean, that’s literally what I do.”
Aubrey was also asked about an LA Times piece about the SAG Awards (which she wrote), “Praising Jenna Ortega, Aubrey Plaza and Moody, Deadpan Latinas.” In response, he said, “I loved it. This shit is important to me because it’s the whole thing.”
“Even with April Ludgate, it was like let’s go. Sofia Vergara is not the only Latina personality. There are other characters! I play a lot of characters that I even play with. White lotus – it is important to normalize that there are all kinds of Latin people. I mean, all my Puerto Rican cousins are so sick. There’s some morbid shit going on there!”
