Obviously, our determined little mermaid is looking for another way to secure her place with the prince, so she visits the sea witch’s abode. And let me tell you, it’s way scarier than the Disney version.

Outside the sea witch’s realm, among the bushes and plants, there are octopuses—half-plant, half-human according to Hans—that reach out and grab anything they can get their hands on.

As the little mermaid approaches the witch’s home, she dodges her arms and sees the bones of fallen sailors, as well as other little mermaids who were caught and suffocated in their grip.
