Yankees player Aaron Boone suspended 1 game for conduct against ump

Major League Baseball delivered New York Yankees Manager Aaron Boone was suspended one game and fined an undisclosed amount Friday for his “recent conduct” toward the umpires.
Boone will serve his suspension Friday night when the Yankees opens a three-game series at home against the San Diego Padres
Boone was ejected in the middle of the third inning of New York’s home game against the Baltimore Orioles on Thursday. He argued with umpire Edwin Moscoso about his strike zone, claimed the umpire had already missed four calls, and continued to yell at Moscoso after he was ejected.
It was Boone’s fourth sack of the young season. He has been ejected from 30 games since taking over the position Yankees managing director in 2018
His three shutouts have come in the last 10 games, including Sunday against the Cincinnati Reds and Thursday. The major league record for managerial sacks in a season is 11, which has occurred five times, most recently by Bobby Cox in 2001. Cox has been sacked more times than any running back in his career.
Boone talked about the reputation he’s building when he spoke to reporters Friday afternoon before the suspension was lifted.
“I think I’ve earned that reputation,” Boone said. “Do I think that leads to a quick hook? Not necessarily. I think (Thursday) night was quick, but it could be a one-off. Maybe I’m wrong and I’ve done more than I think.
“It’s happened a few times this week and I’d like to not get kicked out and hopefully start a long streak of not getting kicked out. I’m not necessarily scared but no, I don’t intend to get kicked out and I don’t want to and hopefully won’t for a while I will.”
THE Yankees has yet to announce who will manage the team Friday night. Bench coach Carlos Mendoza would be next in line
